St. Petersburg Drug Suspect Arrives at Police Station With His Dog

A 29-year-old man suspected of drug dealing in St. Petersburg ended up at the police station with an unusual companion: his dog.

Police say officers found 2.81 grams of mephedrone on the suspect and later discovered another 297.3 grams of methylephedrone during a search of his apartment.

The man was detained and criminal cases were opened. His dog, meanwhile, appears to have been brought along for the mugshot.

One of them looks considerably more concerned about the situation.

Cat Caught Smuggling Drugs Into Russian Prison

Prison staff in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region intercepted an unusual suspected drug courier: a cat wearing a homemade collar containing two packages.

One package held a green substance, while the other contained white powder. Staff called in a dog handler and a sniffer dog named Foxy, which detected the scent of narcotics. Laboratory testing later confirmed that the packages contained illegal drugs.

The collar was confiscated, but after being examined, the cat was released without charge.

Remarkably, a similar smuggling attempt involving another cat was stopped at a prison in the same region around a year earlier.

The courier walked free. The collar did not.
