    Krasnoe & Beloe, a major Russian alcohol retail chain, has asked producers to make alcohol cheaper so people do not stop buying booze, Kommersant reports.

    Since the start of the year, alcoholic drinks have gone up 10–17%, causing demand to fall and stores to lose customers.

    Jesus Christ has died of alcoholism in Tatarstan.

    A Russian man with that legal name died in his apartment. Shortly before his death, a court had ordered him to restore his previous name — Evgeny Petrovich Chekulaev — because he had multiple convictions for robbery and armed robbery, and his new name was deemed offensive to believers.

    In the end, he never managed to complete the name change.
