Russian sex shops are now offering trade-in deals for used vibrators and dildos, giving customers discounts of up to 30% when they bring in their old toys.

According to Russian Telegram news channel Mash Money, at least two major adult-store chains have introduced trade-in programs. One offers a 10% discount, while another gives customers 30% off their next purchase.

And no, the used toys aren’t being cleaned up and put back on the shelves. They’re sent for recycling.

The stores say it’s all about protecting the environment. Sex toys often contain plastics, silicone, electronic components, and batteries that shouldn’t simply end up in regular household trash.

Apparently, Russians are taking the opportunity seriously. According to Mash Money, at least 185 kilograms (408 pounds) of used sex toys have been collected for disposal in 2026. The report also claims that the amount has increased by 200% over the past five years.

So Russia now has something resembling an automotive trade-in program, except instead of bringing in your old Toyota, you’re bringing in a vibrator that’s seen better days.

Some things really shouldn’t end up in the certified pre-owned section.
